Heart captured in Volta Redonda is taken by helicopter to Resende to continue to Paraná

A heart collected at a hospital in Volta Redonda (RJ) was transported by helicopter to Resende (RJ), this Wednesday (4), to continue its journey to Paraná. The journey between the two cities in the south of Rio lasted 20 minutes.

The operation was carried out by the Superintendence of Air Operations (SOAer), of the State Department of Health of Rio de Janeiro, in partnership with the Civil House of Paraná.

According to the secretariat, the capture was completed at 1:40 pm. The organ was taken by the Saúde 02 helicopter team to Resende, where an aircraft from the Civil House of Paraná was waiting to continue transport.

The plane took off at 2:10 pm and landed in Paraná after an hour and 42 minutes of flight. The operation mobilized two aircraft and teams from both states to make the transplant possible.

The name of the hospital where the capture took place, the city of destination and information about the recipient were not disclosed in the statement.
