Çorum City Stadium, the construction of which was started by Çorum Municipality in 2016 and transferred to the Ministry of Youth and Sports after completion, was put into service on September 20, 2020.
The stadium, where Arca Çorum FK played its home matches in the 2nd League White Group and 1st League for 6 seasons, will host Trendyol Super League matches for the first time this season.
Çorum FK, which started the season with the Galatasaray match played at Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex RAMS Park and ended in a 2-2 draw, will play its first home match in the Super League against Kasımpaşa today.
Preparations at the stadium have been completed before the first home match to be played in the Super League.
Hybrid grass was laid in the stadium, where the floor was removed and the underfloor heating system was renewed.
The lighting, sound systems and scoreboard screens of the stadium, which has a capacity of 15 thousand people, were replaced with new ones.
Heated seats were placed on the benches against adverse weather conditions that may occur throughout the season.
Arca Çorum FK will play its first home match in the Super League without its fans due to the ugly and bad cheering caused by its fans and the penalty of playing without spectators due to field incidents in the Trendyol 1st League play-off 2nd round match against Bodrum FK on 15 May.
A giant banner saying "We are Anatolia", the slogan of Çorum FK, was hung on the marathon tribune, which will remain empty due to the penalty.
Youth and Sports Provincial Director Mustafa Demirkıran told the AA reporter that Çorum City Stadium is ready for the Çorum FK-Kasımpaşa match.
Congratulating Çorum FK for being promoted to the Super League, Demirkıran stated that he believes that the red-black team will represent Çorum in the best way.
Pointing out that there is Super League excitement in the city, Demirkıran stated that some changes need to be made in the stadium and said, "There are some deficiencies determined by the Turkish Football Federation, we have completed these deficiencies. We have prepared our stadium in the best possible way for the new season in line with the support of our President for sports, the instructions of our Minister, the follow-up of our deputies and the instructions given by our Governor personally coming to the stadium. I would like to thank our President, our Minister and our club president. The unifying power of sports on the field." We want to see it. I hope our team will become champions and participate in the European leagues. I wholeheartedly believe that our team will represent us in the best possible way." he said.
Pointing out that the first home match in the Super League will be played without spectators, Demirkıran said:
"This match will be without spectators, but in the next matches, we will take our place in the stands and support our team in the best way possible, with the awareness of fair play, with the unity of people, by following the rules. We will watch beautiful matches in peace. Our young people are aware of the unifying power of sports. I think we will reflect this on the field in the best way."
