President Erdoğan met with the İmralı Delegation regarding the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration

Following the adoption of the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration in the Terror-Free Türkiye Process, President Tayyip Erdoğan held his second political contact in Beştepe with the DEM Party's İmralı delegation. Before approving the law, the President evaluated the implementation steps and sensitivities regarding the process with the İmralı delegation. During Erdoğan's meeting with Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, evaluations were made regarding the stages of implementation of the law, the steps to be taken, and social sensitivity on issues that require sensitivity in the process. As a preliminary preparation for the implementation of the law, a security summit was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the civil authorities of 81 provinces under the chairmanship of Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş. Yesterday's meeting in Beştepe was the first important contact of the process at the political level. DELEGATION: THE JOINT WILL WAS CONFIRMED ONCE AGAIN. The meeting, attended by AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Âlâ and MİT President İbrahim Kalın, lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes, longer than expected. In the joint statement made by Buldan and Sancar after the meeting, it was stated that they evaluated the importance of the current stage in the process and what to do next. In the statement of the delegation, it was said, "We held consultations with Mr. President Erdoğan regarding the developments in the peace and democratic society process. It was emphasized that opening the doors of a period in which democracy and the political field will be strengthened with this law is of vital importance for all our citizens and our country. During the meeting, the common will that the process will be continued with determination was once again confirmed. From now on, we will continue our work to ensure that the process progresses towards peace and democracy for the benefit of every person in our country." THE DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED TO A NEW ERA On the other hand, DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan, in her statement before the meeting, stated that they discussed the issue at the Central Executive Board (MYK) and said, "The door has been opened to a new era that we will build step by step with legal and political steps." SUBMITTED TO ERDOĞAN'S APPROVAL PRESIDENT Erdoğan received the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, on Tuesday, after the law was accepted with 467 votes in the General Assembly of the Parliament. Around the same time Kurtulmuş went to Beştepe, the General Secretariat of the Parliament submitted the final version of the law to the President for approval. With this action, the President's 15-day review period began. Erdoğan has until August 26 to decide on the law, in accordance with the Constitution. However, the expectation in the political lobbies is that the President will approve the law without waiting for this period and send it to the Official Gazette for publication.
