President Erdoğan: Mukhtars are the margraves of democracy

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attends the Mukhtars' Meeting held in Beştepe on the occasion of October 19, Mukhtars' Day. President Erdoğan is giving a speech here.

- We have always kept alive the bond between the headmen, the margraves of democracy, and the Presidency. We promised that we would make the Presidential Complex the home of the nation. Thank God, we stayed true to our promise. As a brother of yours who came to his position by the will of the nation, I would like to express this with all my heart; There is nothing more important than walking the road with you.

"THEY COULD NOT ACCEPT THE OPENING OF ALL DOORS OF THE STATE TO MY MUHTAR BROTHERS"

- Those who cannot understand the unshakable bond between us and the headmen have also slandered our meeting with the headmen. They used such derogatory expressions that; They revealed the national will indigestion they had accumulated within themselves. Those who thought they were insulting us by saying 'He can't even be a headman' could not accept that all the doors of the state were opened to my headman brothers. Those who did not consider us worthy of the presidency actually did not consider you worthy of this place either. The reason for their discomfort was not that we were chatting here, but that you came here as if you were coming to your own home.

"THE MUHTAR INITIATIVE HAS BEEN HAPPENED IN POLITICS"

- As the doors of the top of the state opened to our headmen, this atmosphere spread throughout Türkiye, from city centers to villages. Along with the Presidential Complex, the doors of public institutions and municipalities began to open wide to my muhtar brothers. This work is not just at the local level. Our meetings also had a transformative effect on Turkish politics. So to speak; There was a headman initiative in politics. Of course, we cannot measure how sincere they are, but we still see it as valuable for those who changed their ways until yesterday when they saw a mukhtar to organize a mukhtar meeting, even if it is limited to election periods, in terms of strengthening the national will in Türkiye and reconciling the opposition with the society.

We have spared no sacrifices so that you can provide better service to our citizens. We personally listened to the problems and suggestions from our headmen and took the necessary steps quickly.
