Presidential Cabinet Evaluated Terror-Free Türkiye, Economy and Foreign Policy Agenda

The cabinet led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met at the Presidential Complex today to discuss the important topics on the agenda. The main topics of the meeting will be the Terrorism-Free Türkiye process, foreign policy and economy.

NEW ROAD MAP IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TERROR

It is expected that the latest situation from the field in the Terror-Free Türkiye process will be comprehensively evaluated at the cabinet meeting. The stage reached in the disarmament process, reports from the field and the steps to be taken in the coming period will be discussed. As critical thresholds are exceeded in the process, new steps to be taken by the government in the road map will also be evaluated. Regarding the process in his previous statement, President Erdoğan said, "We have come a long way. Hopefully, we will increase our pace a little more. We have only one concern; that is the peace and security of 86 million." He used the following expressions:

NEW HOUSING PROJECT FOR LOW AND MIDDLE INCOME

Following the cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan is expected to include new details regarding both the topics discussed in the meeting and the social housing project in his public statements. It is on the agenda that the social housing project for rent, which aims to facilitate access to housing for low- and middle-income citizens, will not be limited to Istanbul but will spread throughout Türkiye.

GLOBAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT

Another important agenda item of the cabinet will be foreign policy. It is expected that President Erdoğan's contacts within the scope of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and details about the behind-the-scenes of the summit will be shared with the cabinet members. Developments in Syria will also be on the agenda of the meeting. Türkiye's policy towards the protection of Syria's territorial integrity and unity and the latest developments in the region will be evaluated. On the other hand, the conflicts between the USA and Iran are also followed closely. The reflections of the developments in the region on the energy markets and the possible effects of the rise in oil prices on the Turkish economy will also be discussed.

President Erdoğan stated Türkiye's priority regarding Syria: "Ensuring the territorial integrity and unity of Syria remains our primary goal." He expressed it with his words.

MTP AND INFLATION AGENDA

The economy topic will also have an important place on the cabinet's table. Details of the Medium Term Program (MTP), which sets out Türkiye's economic road map for the next three years, are expected to be evaluated at the meeting. In addition to the new steps to be taken in the fight against inflation, growth, employment and economy, studies on the implementation of the targets determined within the scope of the MTP will also be discussed.
