Presidential Symphony Orchestra Will Celebrate Its 200th Anniversary with an International Tour

Minister Ersoy shared a post on his social media account regarding the international concert program of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO).

Stating that CSO continues its two-century-long artistic journey on the world's distinguished stages, Ersoy said:

"Our CSO, which has shaped our country's musical memory since 1826, will tell the world about Türkiye's rich artistic heritage through the universal language of music, with concerts in Bucharest, Prague, Vienna and New York. This special journey will be crowned at New York's Carnegie Hall, one of the symbolic venues of classical music, on September 21, 2027. We are celebrating the 200th anniversary of our Presidential Symphony Orchestra, which brings together the inspiration from its roots with contemporary interpretations, our esteemed conductor." I wish Cemi'i Can Deliorman and all our artists success in their concerts on world stages."

International journey will start in Bucharest

The international concert program for the CSO's 200th anniversary season will include Bucharest, Prague, Vienna and New York.

The orchestra will give the first concert of the international calendar on November 3, 2026 at the Bucharest National Opera House. Conductor Bujor Hoinic will conduct the concert, which will be held specially for Republic Day.

The concert program will include Ferit Tüzün's "Turkish Capricorn", Mozart's 20th Piano Concerto and Bujor Hoinic's symphonic poem "Angora".

CSO goes on European tour

CSO's European tour will begin in March 2027. The orchestra, under the direction of conductor Cemi'i Can Deliorman, will meet the audience on March 29 at the Dvorak Hall of Rudolfinum, one of Prague's iconic art venues, and at the Vienna Konzerthaus on March 31. The soloist of the tour will be Mischa Maisky, one of the leading cellists of the age.

Ferit Tüzün's "Nasreddin Hodja Suite", Antonin Dvorak's cello concerto and Dmitri Shostakovich's 10th Symphony will be performed in the European tour program.

The fact that the Prague concert will be held in Rudolfinum's Dvorak Hall will give Dvorak's work a special meaning in the program.

CSO will present the program that it will perform during its European tour to art lovers in Ankara on March 26.

Carnegie Hall, the culmination of the 200th anniversary

According to the statement made by the Ministry, CSO's international program in its 200th anniversary season will be completed with a concert at New York Carnegie Hall on September 21, 2027.

Cemi'i Can Deliorman will conduct the concert at Carnegie Hall, which is considered one of the most important halls of the world classical music scene. Details about the concert program will be announced in the coming months.

The Presidential Symphony Orchestra will bring its 200 years of artistic experience to international audiences with its program stretching from Bucharest to Prague and Vienna, and from there to New York.

World stars on the CSO stage

The Presidential Symphony Orchestra will bring together the world's leading conductors and soloists with art lovers in Ankara this season.

The season program, which will feature international stars of classical music, will bring to Ankara a repertoire and artist lineup that can be encountered in the most exclusive concert halls of the world's cultural metropolises.

Art lovers will have the privilege of listening to master conductors and soloists, who are followed in different centers of the world, on the CSO stage.
