Li Shengfeng, Vice Chairman of the New Party: Without "One China", there will be no peace, and both sides of the Taiwan Strait should take the initiative to negotiate for reunification

China News Service, September 29 (Yanxintai) Vice Chairman of the New Party Li Shengfeng said at a symposium on the island on the 27th that peace will not fall from the sky. There will be no peace without "One China", and there will be no peace without reunification as the goal.

Li Shengfeng also said bluntly: "Some people say that I am a 'communist traveler', but I am, what's wrong? What's there to be afraid of? My goal is the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the Communist Party of China also aims at the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. So we are fellow travelers, so what's wrong?"

Li Shengfeng previously said in an exclusive interview with mainland media that the mainland has proposed "seven better things" for Taiwan's reunification. What the new party has to do is to first put forward a complete set of testable explanations of these "seven better things" and then convey and communicate them in Taiwan in a language that ordinary people can understand.

He called on Taiwanese society to face up to reunification and take the initiative to negotiate and raise demands. The earlier the talks are held, the better it will be for Taiwan.

"Before the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are officially reunified, Taiwan must do three things first. First, it must accurately understand the mainland's core demands and action logic; second, it must have the ability to negotiate reunification with the mainland; third, and most importantly, Taiwan must clearly sort out and reasonably express its own demands." Li Shengfeng said that the Taiwanese people must be clearly aware of the mainland's firm will to promote national reunification.

Regarding "patriots governing Taiwan," Li Shengfeng pointed out in the above-mentioned interview, what is the true "patriots governing Taiwan"? Even if anyone is engaged in politics in Taiwan after reunification, neither he nor his immediate family members can hold foreign passports. Anyone who secretly holds a foreign passport and is ready to run away at any time cannot truly be good for Taiwan.

"Therefore, we want people who truly love Taiwan and truly want to do good for Taiwan to govern Taiwan. The judgment criteria must not be the so-called 'love for Taiwan' that the Democratic Progressive Party boasts about."
