廖昶淳指出，近來在基層拜票有許多民眾陳情，指斗六工業區異味問題長期影響周邊居住品質，他查閱環境部公開資料發現，2018年至2026年6月，斗六工業區累計公害陳情有441件，其中344件與異味有關，光今年1至6月就有41件，但環保局只告發15件，且最後1件裁罰是在2023年7月，近2年多掛零，但異味問題仍持續發生，質疑縣府的作為消極。

對此，環保局表示，針對民眾陳情案件，每一案都是專案做列管與稽查，基於個資保護問題無法公開，但陳情人可依編號查詢案件處理狀況。

環保局長張喬維強調，對於斗六工業區異味問題，環保局很重視，設有24小時監測車，最近也有裁罰案件，並非無作為，至於陳情案件告發問題，因異味問題稽查人員到場可能味道已飄散，採樣也受限時間、檢測人力等壓力，裁罰有困難度。
