In Novorossiysk, a forest caught fire due to falling UAV debris

In the area of ​​the Durso farm in Novorossiysk, due to the fall of UAV debris, a forest floor caught fire. Fragments of the drone also fell on the territory of a private household in the village of Raevskaya; there were no casualties.

SOCHI, September 8 - RIA Novosti. The forest floor caught fire due to the fall of drone debris near the Durso farm in Novorossiysk, operational and special services are working, reports the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory.

“In the area of ​​the Durso farm in Novorossiysk, due to the fall of UAV debris, a fire occurred in the forest floor. Operational and special services are working on the spot,” says a message published in the Telegram channel of the region’s operational headquarters.

The head of Novorossiysk, Andrei Kravchenko, reports that several fires of about 0.3 hectares were recorded, about 60 people were involved in extinguishing the fire, including volunteers.

“Special equipment and about 60 people were involved in extinguishing the fire: the municipal fire service, forestry, rescuers, Kuban-SPAS, a volunteer fire brigade. Volunteers on ATVs and enduro motorcycles were involved,” Kravchenko wrote in his channel on the Max platform.

The mayor of Novorossiysk adds that the work to eliminate the fire is complicated by the impossibility of equipment access, as well as weather conditions - wind.
