Figure skater Diana Davis performs at the Challenger series tournament in Batumi with an injury received a week before the competition. Her partner Gleb Smolkin told Sports.ru about this.

Despite the injury, the duo of Davis and Smolkin performed in rhythm dance and took first place with a score of 85.23 points. Second place went to Russians Elizaveta Pasechnik and Dario Chirisano, who scored 72.51 points.

“We are happy, but maybe a little distracted - Diana suffered a slight injury a week before the tournament. We were focused to closely monitor this because after Georgia we have a Grand Prix series,” Smolkin said.

The skater explained that the injury occurred due to intense training for 3.5-4 hours on the ice five times a week and an unbalanced load on one leg in both programs. “If the tournament had not been in Georgia, we might have filmed to prevent the slightest deterioration. But the home tournament is very important for us,” the athlete added.
