Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park closes the Eastern entrance due to bears

The management of the Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park has introduced a ban on visiting from the Eastern entrance since September 11 due to the threat of an encounter with a bear.

The restriction at the Eastern entrance was introduced temporarily for an indefinite period.

Notices about the ban are posted at all exits to the Legends of Takmak route.

KRASNOYARSK, September 10 - RIA Novosti. The management of the Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park, in connection with the threat of an encounter with a bear, is introducing a ban on visiting from the Eastern entrance from Friday, the press service of the park reports.

Earlier it was reported that from September 7, for preventive purposes in connection with the threat of encounters with bears, a ban on visiting the park at night was introduced. It was also reported that if the situation worsens, Stolby may be completely closed to tourists.

“We inform you that, due to the threat of bears, since September 11, visiting the national park from the Eastern entrance is prohibited... The restriction at the Eastern entrance has been introduced temporarily, for an indefinite period. The lifting of the ban will be announced later,” the message says.

It is noted that announcements about the ban are posted at all exits to the “Legends of Takmak” route, including in the direction of the Ermak rock and on the way to the Chinese Wall rock. In order to inform tourists, there are regular notifications both by the employees of the Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park and by the administrators of the visitor center of the Tourist Information Center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
