Календарное лето 2026 года выдалось рекордно жарким на планете, и в августе пали еще несколько температурных рекордов, сообщили в четверг европейские ученые.

Впервые с ноября 2025 года глобальное потепление превысило в августе отметку +1,5°C к доиндустриальному уровню 1850–1900 годов — первый рубеж на пути к катастрофическим изменениям климата, удержать который договорились все страны мира Парижским соглашением от 2015 года.

Нагревается не только воздух, но и океан, что особо беспокоит ученых, поскольку он покрывает более 70% поверхности Земли и абсорбировал 90% избыточного глобального потепления последних десятилетий.

В последнем летнем месяце средняя температура его поверхности за пределами полярных широт не только оказалась самой высокой для августа, но и повторила абсолютный рекорд среди всех месяцев года, установленный в марте 2024 года, говорится в ежемесячном отчете Европейского центра среднесрочных прогнозов погоды (ECMWF).
