Pierre Gasly qualified for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza

MOSCOW, September 5 - RIA Novosti. The French pilot of the Alpin team Pierre Gasly became the first in qualifying for the 13th stage of the Formula 1 championship - the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

Gasly's best lap in qualifying was 1 minute 21.786 seconds. The second time was shown by the British George Russell (lag - 0.060 seconds) from Mercedes, the third - by the Australian Oscar Piastri (+0.180) from McLaren.

This podium is the first in the career of the 30-year-old driver; the driver also won his only victory at the Monza circuit in 2020. This season, Gasly finished third at the Monaco Grand Prix, but lost third place due to a fine and missed out on his first podium of the year.

Antonelli, despite his position in qualifying, will start from the last, 22nd place due to the replacement of the power unit before the weekend.
