Sales of new electric vehicles and hybrids in Russia have increased

Sales of new electric vehicles and hybrids in Russia increased by 94.6 percent. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a statement by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and data from the analytical company PPK.

Based on the results of January-September, sales volumes of these vehicles amounted to 99.8 thousand units.

“Positive dynamics continue in the segment of hybrid and electric vehicles. The market for such cars for 9 months of 2026 amounted to 99,749 units, which is 94.6 percent higher than the same figure last year (51,253 units),” explained the PPK based on the system of electronic vehicle passports.

The share of electric vehicles and hybrids for nine months amounted to 9.3 percent of the total new car market in Russia versus 5.1 percent a year earlier. The share of Russian-made vehicles in sales for nine months amounted to 28.4 percent compared to 12.5 percent for the same period last year.
