The Russian Embassy has denied information about the completion of the search operation in Nepal

The Russian Embassy in Nepal denied media reports about the completion of the search and rescue operation after the devastating flood on August 26.

“We are forced to refute reports from some Russian media about the alleged completion of a search operation in Nepal in connection with the catastrophic mudflow that occurred on August 26. The Nepalese authorities did not make any statements about the completion of the operation,” the embassy said in a statement published on the Telegram channel.

Floods hit northern Nepal on the morning of August 26 after a massive torrent of water from the Chinese side rushed into the Bhote Kosi River following a glacier collapse and resulting landslide. The death toll as a result of the disaster exceeded 1,300 people.
