Avalanche in the Bezengi Gorge: information about the injured and dead

All 16 soldiers of the elite special forces center (TSS) “Vityaz”, who were at training camps in the Bezengi Gorge in Kabardino-Balkaria, survived the avalanche. This was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.

At the moment, 16 servicemen have been rescued, 13 have died. Among the victims are soldiers from other units of the Russian Guard.

Rapper Makan (real name Andrey Kosolapov), who is serving in the Vityaz TsSN, did not participate in the training camp.

The Russian National Guard expressed condolences to the relatives and friends of the climbers who died in the avalanche. Part of the group of climbers are representatives of the Russian National Guard. The management of the department provides their families with all the necessary assistance and social support measures.

Information about the death of servicemen of the special purpose center (TSS) “Vityaz”, previously published in separate sources, does not correspond to reality, the Russian Guard noted.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the group of climbers caught in an avalanche in the Bezengi Gorge consisted of 33 people. 10 people were able to survive, get out and go down on their own.

The tragedy occurred in the Bezengi Gorge on September 6. A group of climbers was on Mount Mizhirgi. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case of negligence.

The tasks of the Vityaz detachment include combating terrorism and suppressing mass unrest. Over the entire period of its existence, at least 16 special forces soldiers became Heroes of Russia.
