The Basmanny Court will consider the case of top managers of the Gryazinsky Food Plant

On September 28, the Basmanny Court of Moscow will hold a preliminary hearing in the criminal case of top managers of the Gryazinsky Food Plant JSC regarding the supply of low-quality dry rations to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti was told in court.

The plant, under an agreement with Voentorg, supplied it with individual food rations (IRP), food rations for small teams, one-time or intermediate food rations, small-sized food rations and on-board rations for airplane and helicopter crews. The investigation believes that the plant's top managers stole money during the execution of the contract.

In April 2024, the court arrested the top managers of Gryazinsky Food Plant JSC Elvira Smirnova, Alexander Mikhailenko and Valery Kovalevich, as well as businessman Igor Kotelnikov; he later died in a pre-trial detention center due to heart problems, but remained a defendant in the criminal case.

“The case against Kovalevich, Mikhailenko and Kotelnikov went to court. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 28,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

It is expected to be held behind closed doors.

According to court documents available to RIA Novosti, Smirnova will be tried separately because she admitted guilt and entered into a pre-trial agreement to cooperate with the investigation.
