Video of protesters beating Xi Jinping with sandbags outside the White House during his visit to the United States sparked controversy

Chinese President Xi Jinping went to the United States for a state visit. However, many Chinese netizens also criticized: "a bunch of idiots," "a spiritual victory method," and "a bunch of bastards."

On the eve of Xi Jinping's arrival in the United States, the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) also joined forces with a total of 30 human rights and citizen groups such as "Human Rights in China" and the "Hong Kong Freedom Commission Foundation" to launch a human rights initiative in Washington on the evening of the 23rd. The organizer will project the portraits and demands for release of those detained by the Chinese authorities on the outer wall of the East Building of the National Gallery of Art, and display them on Capitol Hill and the Diplomatic District through mobile projection trucks to call attention to human rights issues in China.
