Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely targeted the opponents during a program held in a college of Delhi University on Saturday.
In a program at DU's Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), he once again mentioned 'Dimaagi Naxal'.
He said, "Today the country is economically and socially much more secure than in 2013. But panic has started among some people. I had given homeopathy pills to such people from the Red Fort on August 15. Then I had said one word - mental Naxal."
"Homeopathy treatment aggravates the disease for some time. As soon as I gave this pill, all the mental Naxals started coming out. But the public is seeing their true colors."
In fact, there were a lot of reactions regarding the term 'Mental Naxal' and some critics had alleged that youth, intellectuals and thinkers who question the government's policies are being targeted with such words.
This program was organized on the occasion of centenary celebrations of SRCC on Saturday.
PM Modi used Metro to reach SRCC, during which pictures of him talking to children have also surfaced.
Earlier, PM Modi gave information about his program in his ex-post and mentioned the contribution of the college.
In his address, PM Modi also specifically used words which are popular among Gen Z.
PM Modi said that calling DU colleges as SRCC is in itself a 'flex'.
He said, "The alumni of SRCC have also been special. If I say it in your language, the alumni here are the OGs, who have taken the name of SRCC all over the world. The people coming out of here have made a splash in every field. They may not be great, but they have made a splash."
In fact, Gen Z usually uses OG in her conversations to refer to an experienced and respected person.
Addressing the students present at the event, he said, "Outside the campus, you will find two types of people... One is the people who convert the power of the society into the power of the nation in a positive way. The other type is those people who become angry uncles whenever any work is started. Their favorite thing is to oppose every work. They have only one dialogue... What is the need for this?"
He said, "When we were building the world's largest statue, uncle ji tightened his waist, what is the need for it? When we worked on the high speed train, uncle ji said, what is the need for it. When UPI was brought, uncle ji said, what is the need for it."
"When we built a new Parliament building, then they said, what is the need for it. When we built the memorial of our brave army heroes, the uncles again came into the field, what was the need for it. But India replied to all such uncles. No one can stop India from doing what is important for the country."
In his speech, PM Modi also remembered his speech given at Shri Ram College in 2013. At that time he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
The PM said, "I had given the example of a glass of water in 2013. One view of the glass is those who see the glass half empty, and the other view is those who see the glass completely full, half with air and half with water."
He said, "After forming the government in 2014, we demonstrated this, let me tell you through an example. Recently, Jan Dhan Yojana completed 12 years. Today you are living in a different era of fintech. But before 2014, children of villages and small towns had to struggle to open savings accounts. So we came up with Jan Dhan Scheme. And in the last 12 years, 60 crore new accounts were opened through it."
PM Modi said, "There is a gang, whatever I am saying will be cut into small pieces and put in my account. I warn you in advance, the things I am saying were covered in the media during that period of 2013."
"Like... killing of Indian soldiers on LoC, World Bank reduced GDP growth rate estimate, current account deficit at all time high, inflation rate at around 10 percent, industrial sector in the grip of recession, bribery exposed in helicopter deal, bomb blast in Hyderabad. These were the headlines of that time."
He said, "At that time, development was at the lowest level and inflation was at its peak. At that time, scams were at their peak and the corrupt roamed around fearlessly. Terrorists were unbridled and Pakistan was out of control. One was that day and one is today when those spreading terrorism are lying defeated, if Pakistan does any nefarious act then the Indian Army enters the house and kills, the back of Naxalism has been broken."
PM Modi also mentioned the growth rate of Indian GDP in his speech.
He said, "India's growth of 7.8% has also come at a time when the West Asia war is going on and when there are trade related bottlenecks. Achieving such growth at that time shows India's capability."
In fact, the Government of India says that the GDP growth rate in the first quarter of the current financial year (2026-27) has been 7.8 percent. However, controversy arose over this government claim.
The country's former Finance Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg and opposition parties have raised serious questions about the method of calculating these figures and the changes made in the 'base year'.
Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pawan Kheda has reacted to PM Modi's speech.
