Statement from DEM Party about the Imrali process: We will move to the stage where steps will be taken

DEM Party İmralı Delegation Member Pervin Buldan made statements about the next stage of the process.

Buldan, who had previously argued that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan should establish direct contact with different segments of society and give interviews to journalists, pointed to October on this issue.

After the process law was passed by the Parliament, all eyes turned to the decisions to be issued by the MGK.

After the expected decision regarding the reporting of the PKK's disarmament process and the transition to the second phase of the process was not made, attention turned to the next MGK meeting.

“WE WILL GO TO THE STAGE WHERE STEPS WILL BE TAKEN”

Buldan stated that Öcalan stated that we are at a critical stage of the process and said that negotiations on the political dimension of the issue will be on the agenda in the next period.

Buldan said, "We will move to the stage where negotiations will take place and steps will be taken regarding the political part of the century-old issue, not the armed part."

“ÖCALAN WILL ASSUME THE ROLE OF COORDINATOR”

Buldan stated that Öcalan is planned to undertake coordination duties in both disarmament and the progress of the political and democratic process, and said:

"Öcalan will assume the role of coordinator both in the disarmament process and in the political and democratic construction process. It is an inevitable necessity to ensure the coordination of the board established for this purpose, to meet with different segments of society, and to ensure free working and communication conditions.

The Board will be the artery of the progress of the process, so to speak. The Board will both manage the disarmament processes and take an active role in the politicization process. Every step taken in disarmament will expand the political space; "Every assurance provided in the political field will add confidence to the disarmament process."

HE MENTIONED OCTOBER FOR THE INTERVIEW

Buldan said that they expect the MGK decision regarding the implementation of the law to be taken without delay so that the process can progress. Stating that the steps to be taken under different headings with the opening of the Parliament will contribute to the progress of the process, Buldan stated that Öcalan's meeting with different segments of the society should also be on the agenda.
