'Insulting the President' investigation into Dilan Polat

Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat were imprisoned for nine months in the case where they were tried on a number of charges.

Social media celebrity Dilan Polat was brought to the Anatolian Courthouse within the scope of the investigation initiated on charges of insulting the President.

An image of Polat shared on social media was cited as the reason for the investigation launched by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Dilan Polat, who was brought to the courthouse accompanied by the police, was taken to the prosecutor's office to testify. It was learned that Polat fell ill during the statement and the medical teams were informed.

Polat, whose prosecution proceedings were completed, was referred to the criminal judgeship of peace on duty with a request for judicial control. The judgeship ruled that Polat be released with the said judicial control measures.
