Mother and father are detained in the investigation of the 11-month-old baby missing in Divriği

The incident took place on September 10 in Göndüren village of Divriği district. Elif Balıkçı, the daughter-in-law of the family who came to the village temporarily from Diyarbakır to work as a livestock breeder, called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported that she could not find her 11-month-old baby Büşra in the tent where they lived. AFAD, commando and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region upon notice; It launched a large-scale search operation with artificial intelligence-supported unmanned aerial vehicle and tracking dog. Search and screening operations were carried out in the field by the teams for 1 day.

THEY LEAVED THEIR CLOTHES ON THE LAND

The search was expanded, taking into account the possibility that wild animals had taken Büşra Balıkçı. While the search was continuing, some of the baby's clothes were found approximately 2 kilometers from the tent. However, no tears, damage or traces of blood were detected on the clothes.

PARENTS AND 4 PEOPLE IN CUSTODY

Deepening the investigation, the teams detained mother Elif Balıkçı, father Yusuf Balıkçı and 4 people on suspicion that the baby was sold or kidnapped for money. In her second statement to the gendarmerie, Elif Balıkçı admitted that the baby was given to others by her husband in exchange for money and that the "lost" claim was a complete fiction. Yusuf Balıkçı, whose detention proceedings were ongoing, unlike the mother, denied the accusations against him and repeated his first statement that the child was missing.

CAMERAS IN REVIEW

Gendarmerie teams are scanning all security cameras in the region to shed light on the incident and find traces of baby Büşra. It was reported that on the day of the incident, there was a traffic jam due to a food program held in the village, so an effort was made to identify all vehicles passing through the area. While the investigations on the cameras are being carried out meticulously, the 6 suspects in custody are expected to be transferred to Divriği Courthouse after their procedures. It was stated that among those detained was a veterinarian who was vaccinating animals in the plateau on the day of the incident.

On the other hand, it was learned that the plateau region where the incident took place was surrounded by security by the teams, and entry and exit to the region was prohibited.

A BROADCAST BAN HAS BEEN ARRIVED

In the statement made by Sivas Governorship, it was stated that a publication ban decision was taken by the Divriği Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the investigation carried out regarding the disappearance of baby Büşra.

The statement said, "In line with the decision in question, official letters were sent by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) and the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) in order to take the necessary measures in accordance with the legislation."
