Pure car and truck carrier "Grand Egypt" was delivered and set sail in Nantong, Jiangsu

China News Service, Nanjing, September 24 (Zhang Yuehua) On the 24th, under the full escort protection of Nantong Maritime Safety Administration, the Pure Car Truck Carrier (PCTC) "Grand Egypt" was delivered and set sail in Nantong, Jiangsu Province.

The "Grand Egypt" has a total length of 220 meters, a width of 38 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters, a gross tonnage of 95,534, and is equipped with 15 vehicle decks and can carry 9,800 vehicles. The ship has the conditions for upgrading ammonia fuel power in the future and has reached the world's leading level in terms of loading scale, power adaptation, and green environmental protection. It is a benchmark product for China's green manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing of high-end ships.

Since the beginning of this year, a batch of "world's largest" and "nation's first" high-end ships have set sail from Nantong. According to statistics from the Nantong Maritime Safety Administration, in the first eight months of this year, the bureau has safely ensured the trial delivery of 105 sub-high-tech ships and offshore engineering equipment, with the number increasing by 9.4% year-on-year; the total tonnage of trials ships reached 3.7364 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.2%; on average, one ship leaves the river and enters the sea in less than 2.5 days.
