A series of bomb scares in Moscow's universities and educational institutions

The action began on Thursday morning. According to the msk1 website, it affected at least ten educational institutions in the Russian capital.

The evacuees included, among others: Russian University of Chemical Technology named after Mendeleev, GITIS - Russian University of Theater Arts, State University of Education, Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism and Russian State University named after Kosygin.

The reports also concerned the college of the Russian University of Economics. Plekhanov in the Khamovniki district, the Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University and the Institute of Contemporary Art.

The Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University told TASS that it had decided to switch to distance learning following an anonymous bomb scare.

In turn, five campuses at the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism were evacuated, RBC reported. Students reported that classes were canceled at some universities.

One of the students of the College of Modern Technologies and Medicine said that Rosgvardiya officers arrived at the scene. As she reported, people staying in the building had to leave it immediately, without taking their personal belongings.

The services are checking the buildings

Russian media report that some of the alarms may have turned out to be false. The services are still checking the facilities.

One of the support centers for children with developmental disabilities was also evacuated - the Family Center. Rossolimo. A fire truck appeared near one of the two abandoned buildings of Moscow Polytechnic University.

Similar information is also coming from other parts of Russia. A bomb scare led to the evacuation of the Kurgan Primary Medical College. Several schools in Kirov were abandoned.
