Türkiye presented proposals to Russia and Ukraine on the safety of navigation in the Black Sea

Turkey presented Russia and Ukraine with its proposals to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.

Türkiye does not yet plan to make the contents of the proposals public.

Ankara will continue contacts with Russia and Ukraine to create conditions for the security of commercial shipping and prevent further escalation in the Black Sea.

ANKARA, September 28 - RIA Novosti. Turkey presented Russia and Ukraine with its proposals to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, while Ankara does not plan to make their content public at this stage, a source in the Turkish Cabinet told RIA Novosti.

Türkiye did indeed present its proposals on the issue of ensuring security in the Black Sea, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said earlier.

“Turkey’s proposals on the safety of navigation in the Black Sea are presented to the parties directly. At this stage, we do not plan to make their content public, since we believe that diplomatic initiatives should first of all be discussed directly with the parties concerned. Ankara will continue contacts with Russia and Ukraine and will strive to create conditions to ensure the safety of commercial shipping and prevent further escalation in the Black Sea,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to him, the Turkish side considers it necessary to continue diplomatic work to reduce risks for civil and commercial shipping.
