The movie "Paradise Lost" is specially screened in Kaohsiung. Larry Ruilong hopes to build a resilient social safety net.

The film "Paradise Lost" with the theme of children's placement and social safety net was held in Kaohsiung today (23rd) for public benefit screening. DPP Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Lai Ruilong was invited to attend the movie and said that he hopes to use the power of film and television to arouse more understanding and attention from society and work together to build a stronger social safety net for Kaohsiung.

Lai Ruilong pointed out that some children enter the alternative care system due to multiple factors. In addition to psychological pressure, they often have to face issues such as schooling, employment, housing and interpersonal support gaps alone after leaving the placement institution. All these need to be taken care of by the government and society.

Lai Ruilong said that he attended with a humble heart to ask for help, and was especially grateful to the film team and the "Resettlement Alliance" and other groups dedicated to the protection of children and children. He noticed that the director of "Paradise Lost" Tsai Yin-juan and the team invested a lot of effort in field research, which showed the delicacy and concentration of Taiwanese film and television workers, and also gave more people the opportunity to further transform understanding into practical actions through emotional resonance.

Lai Ruilong emphasized that to catch injured children, it is necessary to simultaneously support social workers and caregivers on the front line. In the future, we will continue to promote the stabilization of the social worker workforce and improve working conditions. At the same time, we will strengthen support systems such as psychological trauma recovery, education connection, life care, employment preparation, and youth self-reliance development based on the different needs of children. We will continue to strengthen the social safety net through cross-bureau integration.

He believes that taking good care of every child is a demonstration of the temperature and height of a city's governance, and it is also an important responsibility. The social safety net is a long-term, progressive project that not only catches injured children at the moment, but also accompanies them to a stable and independent life. He will go all out to promote it with all walks of life.
