A Ukrainian citizen who committed an attack in Yaroslavl Abbey has been arrested in Poland.

A Ukrainian citizen stabbed five people, including three priests, on the territory of the Yaroslav Abbey in the Podkarpackie region of Poland; one of the victims died.

The court imposed a three-month temporary arrest against a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen suspected of murdering a priest and attacking four other people with a knife.

The motive for the crime is not yet clear; the suspect will undergo a psychiatric examination.

WARSAW, September 26 - RIA Novosti. A Ukrainian citizen who killed a priest and wounded four people in Poland was arrested for three months, prosecutor Bozhena Kharash-Woloshin told reporters.

On Thursday, a Ukrainian citizen stabbed five people, including three priests, on the territory of the Yaroslav Abbey in the Podkarpackie region of Poland. One of them died in the hospital. Two more are in life-threatening condition.

“The court applied a three-month temporary arrest against a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen suspected of murdering a priest and attacking four other people with a knife in the monastery of Benedictine sisters in Yaroslav,” the prosecutor said.

She clarified that “for health reasons” the Ukrainian will be kept under arrest in the hospital.
