Maricarmen Abascal asks Pedro Sánchez for a decree law after her eviction in Madrid

Maricarmen Abascal, the disabled octogenarian from Madrid who was evicted last Wednesday in Madrid, sent a message this Saturday to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, asking him that next Tuesday the Council of Ministers approve a decree law that represents "the first step to end the system" that allowed the launch that forced her to leave the apartment in which she had lived for 71 years.

He has done so through a video released by the Tenants' Union, the second published since his admission to the hospital due to the severe exhaustion he suffered during the eviction that has unleashed a wave of protests throughout Spain.

"This is a message for Pedro Sánchez, but also for all the people who have supported me during these days. I want what has happened to me to help so that it does not happen to other people, I want it to help people fight and to change the laws that have allowed my eviction," explains Maricarmen.

In this context, he calls on the Council of Ministers to approve this Tuesday what he calls the "Maricarmen decree" which, in his opinion, should serve to take "a first step to end this system."

And, in parallel, she encourages people who have shown solidarity with her to support the online petition launched by the Tenants' Union to demand the approval of this rule that will then have to be validated by Congress.

Maricarmen also takes the opportunity to once again ask people to continue fighting for the right to housing and specifically to attend the demonstration called this Saturday that starts at 6:30 p.m. in Puerta del Sol.
