Jeju police officer sent to additional prosecution for trespassing into women's restroom after falsely ending missing persons report

(Jeju = Yonhap News) Reporter Baek Na-yong = A Jeju police officer who was arrested and forwarded on charges of falsely closing a missing persons report was also handed over to the prosecution on charges of breaking into a women's restroom.

The Jeju Police Agency announced on the 10th that it had sent Captain A to the prosecution on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (invading a place used by many for sexual purposes).

Captain A is accused of entering the women's restroom at the Jeju Western Police Station where he worked on July 22nd.

At the time, Captain A explained, “I had to relieve myself in the women’s bathroom because there was no toilet paper in the men’s bathroom,” and “there was no sexual purpose.”

However, the police judged that the trespass for sexual purposes was acknowledged based on the statement of police officer A and the circumstances at the time.

In fact, when the police identified palm prints on both walls of the upper part of the bathroom stall, Captain A's DNA was detected.

However, it was confirmed that no illegal recordings were found in the forensic analysis of Officer A's cell phone.

Captain A was arrested and forwarded on charges of falsely closing the missing person report for a woman in her 30s, Mr. Jang, who was reported missing last May, and the missing person report for a man in his 60s filed last July.
