Evgeniy Poddubny on the creation of the “People’s Digital Archive of SVO Participants’ Stories”

Evgeny Poddubny believes that every citizen of Russia should have the opportunity to learn the stories of special operation fighters.

In Russia, a “People’s Digital Archive of Stories of SVO Participants” is being created, where interviews, diaries, memories of special operation participants, documents and materials will be collected.

According to Poddubny, the stories of specific fighters and their exploits are the foundation for the education of future generations.

Every citizen of Russia should have the opportunity to learn the stories of special operation fighters; this is the foundation for educating future generations, says the representative of the federal five of the United Russia list in the State Duma elections, Hero of the Russian Federation Evgeniy Poddubny.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, he recalled that a “People’s Digital Archive of SVO Participants’ Stories” is being created in Russia. The portal will contain interviews, diaries, memories of participants in the special operation, documents and materials. In addition, the portal will contain projects to perpetuate the memory of SVO participants, implemented in the regions, Poddubny said.

“Every person should have the opportunity to learn the history of a particular fighter, his military path and feat. This is not just a tribute to memory - it is the foundation for educating future generations. When a boy or girl can open an archive and see the real story of a real hero, it works stronger than any slogans,” Poddubny said.

He recalled the well-known call in the Soviet Union “No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten” and noted that it is important to be guided by it in the present time.

“If we become “Ivans who don’t remember their kinship,” a people without a past, then we won’t have a future,” Poddubny emphasized.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian government, together with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation and the North Military District Veterans Association, to consider the issue of creating a national digital archive of the stories of participants in a special military operation.

Elections of deputies to the State Duma of the ninth convocation will take place in September. Voting will take place over three days - from September 18 to 20. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the upcoming elections to the State Duma the most important domestic political event in the country.
