Islam Makhachev naming the best candidate for the Ballon d'Or

UFC welterweight champion Russian Islam Makhachev (34 years old) expressed his opinion on who should receive the Golden Ball this year. His words are quoted by Match TV.

“If you don’t count the World Cup, I would give the Golden Ball to Kvaratskhelia,” the fighter said.

PSG midfielder Kvaratskhelia was among 30 candidates for the award. The winner will be determined based on the results of voting by 100 journalists from countries representing the top 100 of the FIFA rankings. The award ceremony is scheduled for October 26 in London and will be the 70th anniversary in history.

PSG forward Ousmane Dembele named his three favorites: Kvaratskhelia, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe. Legendary French striker Thierry Henry considers Mbappe, who won the Golden Boot of the Champions League, World Cup and La Liga, to be the main contender.

The current winner of the prize is Dembélé. A total of 10 PSG players were among the nominees.
