In particular, with President Trump confirming his visit to China in November, attention is focused on whether this will lead to a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

China's official Xinhua News Agency reported that at the U.S.-China summit held at the White House on the 24th, the two leaders also discussed major international and regional issues such as the Korean Peninsula issue, the Middle East, and Ukraine.

Xinhua News Agency did not disclose the specific conversations that took place regarding the Korean Peninsula issue, and the United States has not yet released any related information.

President Trump has repeatedly expressed his intention to resume dialogue with Chairman Kim.

Meanwhile, speculation has been raised that President Trump may seek advice from China's President Xi, North Korea's biggest ally, on Chairman Kim's intentions or the resumption of North Korea-US dialogue.

Bonnie Lin, director of China affairs at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), noted that North Korea-China relations are strengthening, with President Xi and Chairman Kim exchanging congratulatory letters six times this year and high-level delegations between the two countries traveling back and forth five times.

Director Lin said at CSIS's U.S.-China Summit Evaluation Seminar that day, "We know that President Trump is interested in meeting with Kim Jong-un at a time when China is strengthening its relationship with North Korea."

President Xi formally invited President Trump and his wife to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be held in Shenzhen, China on November 18-19.

President Trump officially confirmed his visit to China in November, saying, "We will meet again in China in November, and then at the G20 summit to be held in Miami, Florida (USA) in December."

Accordingly, attention is being paid to whether movements to resume North Korea-US dialogue will materialize around President Trump's visit to China.

Previously, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that President Trump was urging his staff to hold a meeting with Chairman Kim as early as this fall and had privately discussed a plan to hold a face-to-face meeting with Chairman Kim during his next visit to Asia.

However, North Korea has not yet responded to President Trump's proposal for dialogue, so it is unclear whether dialogue will actually resume.
