The Minister of Finance gives books by authors from other territories to the regional councilors

The Minister of Finance, Arcadi España, wanted to give today, before the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council, which has given the green light to the proposal to reform regional financing, to each Minister of the Treasury a book by a significant author from another territory. It is an unprecedented detail. Each regional representative had the copy chosen by Spain in their place at the round table.

The minister's objective, his team argues, is to convey the message that "understanding Spain is learning to look at it in plural." "Believe in the diversity that enriches us and in the identity that beats in each of its territories to continue building together and united," they add from the Arcadi Spain environment.

The book chosen by Spain to give to the Community of Madrid has been 'The pain of others', by Miguel Ángel Hernández from Murcia. Counselor Rocío Albert has not been able to collect the present since yesterday she announced that she would not attend the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council.

The gift that Councilor Alicia Romero, representative of the Generalitat of Catalonia, received was 'People of the South and other writings about Andalusia', by Manuel Chaves Nogales. The Catalan author chosen by the Minister of Spain has been Eduardo Mendoza, whose work 'The City of Wonders' has been received by the Minister of Extremadura.

The Minister of Andalusia has been able to take a copy of 'Ardalén', by the Galician author Miguelanxo Prado, to Seville. The Valencian Community has received a copy of 'Word over word', by the Asturian Ángel González. And Asturias, for its part, has received a copy from the Castilian-La Mancha José Luis Sampedro. Specifically, the book chosen by the minister was 'The River That Carries Us'.

The counselor of Castilla-La Mancha has received 'In the last blue', by the Balearic Carme Riera. And they have given the Balearic Islands 'Old Stories of Old Castile', by Miguel Delibes. The book that Castilla y León has received has been 'Mararia', by the Canarian Rafael Arozarena. And the Canary Islands have won 'Requiem for a Spanish Peasant', by Ramón J. Sender.

Other gifts have been: 'The rest is air', by Juan Gómez Bárcena, for Murcia; the 'Poetic Anthology' by Francisco Brines for Galicia; 'The Winter Balcony' by Luis Landero for Cantabria; 'Kisses on the bread' by Almudena Grande for Melilla; 'Cándida' by Isabel Lizárraga for Ceuta; 'When the sky was blue', by Montserrat Abumalham for Aragón; and 'The good reputation', by Ignacio Martínez de Pisón for La Rioja.

The PP councilors have thanked the minister for the gesture, but have assured that what truly unites the Spanish people is respect for the Constitution. The Minister of Andalusia, Carolina España, has assured that in the next call of the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council they will give Minister Spain a copy of the Magna Carta.
