Warning Seminar on Artificial Intelligence Drug Recommendations in Elazığ

At the "Unnecessary and Unconscious Drug Use" seminar organized by Elazığ Municipality Art and Social Affairs Directorate Healthy Life Center, the uncontrolled use of artificial intelligence technologies in the field of health and the dangers it brings were discussed. At the event held at Ahmet Tevfik Ozan Fair and Congress Center, the social dimensions of drug consumption were discussed with the guidance of artificial intelligence.

Making a presentation within the scope of the seminar, Dr. Pharmacist Oğuzhan Tatar pointed out that citizens directly resort to artificial intelligence-based software for health complaints instead of consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

"ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS NOT A DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST"

Dr. stated that it is wrong to rely on artificial intelligence even for health complaints that seem stupid or simple. Pharmacist Tatar said, "Today, our citizens who experience a simple headache or nausea are trying to make a diagnosis and determine medicine by asking questions to artificial intelligence instead of consulting a physician. Artificial intelligence is ultimately a software and algorithm system; it is not a physician, it is not a pharmacist."

"IT MAY CAUSE ORGAN DAMAGE"

Emphasizing that artificial intelligence systems cannot evaluate the complex structure of human biology, Tatar said:

"Artificial intelligence cannot analyze a person's clinical history, allergic status or body reactions. Medicines taken unconsciously under the guidance of artificial intelligence have the potential to cause serious health problems and organ damage."

During the seminar, Eyüp Esergün, a police officer at the Elazığ Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch, also gave information about the legal and social aspects of non-prescription drug use and addictive substances. The event ended after the questions of the participants were answered.
