It was reported that the spokesperson of the political action committee "America PAC" founded by Musk confirmed the figure in question, thus, it was stated that the US businessman stood out as the biggest known donor of the Republicans in the midterm elections.

The news also stated that $158 million of the donation was transferred to the Senate Leadership Fund, known as the leading Republican "super PAC" (political action committee) in the Senate elections. Musk, who donated approximately $288 million to the election campaigns of US President Donald Trump and other Republican candidates in the November 2024 elections, was the name that made the highest political donation. In the US midterm elections to be held on April 3, the entire House of Representatives with 435 seats and one-third of the Senate with 100 seats will be renewed.
