Erdogan met with Azerbaijani President Aliyev in Bishkek and attended the SCO summit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, where he was to attend the 26th Heads of State Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

According to the statement made by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, he discussed Türkiye-Azerbaijan bilateral relations and regional and global developments.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that the value of the cooperation steps taken by Turkey and Azerbaijan, especially in energy, infrastructure and transportation, is better understood in the atmosphere in our region, and that deepening our relations in every field with the understanding of "two states, one nation" will benefit our countries.

The President stated that, as Türkiye, we will always continue to contribute to the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace, and that the peace to be achieved will be the lifeblood of our region.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan invited Azerbaijani President Aliyev to the COP31 Summit to be held in Antalya.

SCO COUNCIL OF HEADS OF STATE MEETING STARTED IN BISHKEK

President Erdoğan entered the Iris Ordo Congress Center in Bishkek, where the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of State Summit will be held.

The SCO Heads of State Council Meeting, attended by the heads of state and government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries, started in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

HEADS OF STATE TOOK FAMILY PHOTO

President Sadır Dzhoparov welcomed the heads of state and government of SCO member countries one by one within the scope of the SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting held at the Iris Ordo Congress Center, and a traditional "family photo" was taken.

Türkiye HAS DIALOGUE PARTNER STATUS

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization consists of China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, Iran and Belarus. While Afghanistan and Mongolia have observer member status, dialogue partner countries include Turkey, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Maldives, Myanmar and Laos.
