Roof Blown Off Due to Storm in Esenler: Children and Passersby Were Rescued at the Last Minute

The incident took place yesterday evening in Esenler Oruç Reis District. According to the information obtained, the roof of a building was blown off due to the effective storm. As the flying roof fell towards the street, children playing on the street and a passerby narrowly escaped being trapped under the roof. What happened when the roof fell onto the street was recorded on the security camera. Neighborhood residents described their moments of horror.

"Thank God, my daughter has nothing."

Stating that his daughter came back from the brink of disaster at the last minute, Hakan Karaaslan said, "Yesterday, my daughter left work at around 17.30. She works as a teacher in a school. She was passing by here, I live in two back streets. While passing here, she encountered a certain incident. We are in shock right now. God really spared us our child. Thank God, my daughter has nothing. May God not let anyone experience such a thing."

"I thought the building opposite collapsed"

Stating that he was in the neighborhood at the time of the incident, Hakan Karataş said, "I was sitting on the opposite pavement when the incident happened. Suddenly, things got mixed up. A woman was passing by. Suddenly, the roof fell down. When the roof fell down, this place got confused. I thought the building opposite had collapsed. Turns out, the roof of the building opposite had blown off. Everyone ran somewhere during the incident. There were no injuries."

Neighborhood resident Emrah Tırmik said, "There was a southwest wind, the roof of the building flew off. The flying roof touched the window of the building. The glass of the building exploded. The flying roof fell in the middle of the street. Electrical wires were shattered. Two vehicles were damaged. There were children. There was no loss of life or injuries. A woman narrowly escaped. Something like a disaster happened."
