Eurostat: Unemployment rates in the EU and Eurozone remained stable in July

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced the July unemployment data of the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone.

Making updates to historical data, the institution revised the June unemployment rate of the Euro Zone, previously announced as 6.3 percent, to 6.4 percent and the EU unemployment rate from 6 percent to 6.1 percent.

With the latest data, the unemployment rate in the Eurozone, which was 6.4 percent in June, was measured at the same level in July. The unemployment rate in the EU remained stable at 6.1 percent in July.

On the other hand, the unemployment rate was 6.3 percent in the Eurozone and 6 percent in the EU in July 2025.

In July, the unemployment rate was 10.5 percent in Finland, 10 percent in Spain, 8.7 percent in Sweden, 8.3 percent in France and 7.9 percent in Greece.

While the number of unemployed people in the EU was calculated as 13 million 516 thousand in July, 11 million 264 thousand of these people were in the Eurozone.

In July, the number of unemployed young people under the age of 25 was determined as 2 million 930 thousand in the EU and 2 million 371 thousand in the Eurozone.

The youth unemployment rate decreased from 15.6 percent in June to 15.1 percent in July in the EU, and from 15 percent to 14.9 percent in the Eurozone.
