Former PM goes to jury for death of young man leaving a university party in Itaperuna

According to the complaint from the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ), Livison was participating in a party for Veterinary Medicine students, held in Rancho dos Palmares, when an argument began between the group of friends of the victim and the accused.

According to the MP, the former police officer was armed and remained with the weapon inside the establishment throughout the event. After security guards asked those involved to leave the place, a new argument began outside.

According to the complaint, Artur pulled out the gun, pointed it in the direction of the victim's friends and shot Livison in the chest, who died as a result of the shot.

The MPRJ denounced the former police officer for double homicide, for futile reasons, due to an argument considered banal, and for the use of a resource that would have made it difficult to defend the victim, who was hit by surprise.

The accused was placed on leave from the Military Police as a result of the crime. The case also provoked demonstrations from Livison's family and friends.
