An F-16 fighter jet destroyed a naval drone near a gas platform in the Black Sea

An F-16 fighter jet destroyed a maritime drone several hundred meters from a natural gas production platform in the Black Sea. This was stated by the acting Minister of Defense of Romania, Radu Miruta, on his Facebook page (a social network banned in Russia; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is banned).

“The Romanian Army destroyed a naval drone using an F-16 fighter in the area of ​​the Neptune Deep platform in the Black Sea,” he wrote.

According to Miruta, the drone was found a few hundred meters from the work site on the Neptun Deep platform, located about 129 kilometers east of Constanta.

After analyzing the information received, the command post decided to destroy the drone to protect platform employees and ensure the safety of critical infrastructure. To carry out the task, two F-16 fighters were taken into the air.
