MOSCOW, October 1 - RIA Novosti. The law on the platform economy is an important step in creating equal and transparent conditions for all market participants, says Alexey Moskalenko, Chairman of the Presidium of the Association of Electronic Commerce Representatives (APET).
On October 1, the law on the platform economy comes into force in Russia. The document regulates the relationship between digital platforms, their partners and users.
“Now entrepreneurs have uniform and clear rules for working on platforms. The law creates the basis for fair competition and defends the interests of both buyers and bona fide entrepreneurs. This is exactly what the market lacked during the period of rapid growth,” the APET press service quoted Moskalenko as saying.
The head of APET noted the constructive nature of the work on the bill.
“We are grateful to the state for the open dialogue in the process of preparing the law. Taking into account the opinions of the business community allowed us to avoid many potential distortions,” he explained.
At the same time, Moskalenko added that entrepreneurs should be given time to smoothly adapt to the requirements of the law.
“It is important to pay special attention to micro-businesses and beginning entrepreneurs. For them, new requirements for documentation and inspections can become a challenge; we need to help them understand the new requirements. The state, industry associations and large businesses can help with this,” he noted.
The head of APET declared the association’s readiness to monitor the practical application of the law.
