The Israeli army launches raids on southern Lebanon in response to Hezbollah's marches

The Israeli army announced, on Sunday, that it had begun launching raids on southern Lebanon, in response to Hezbollah launching two drones towards its forces in what it described as the “security zone” controlled by Israel in southern Lebanon.

The army said in a statement that two "suicide" drones were launched towards its forces, noting that there were no casualties among its soldiers.

He added that his forces "are currently attacking southern Lebanon in response."

The Israeli army reported that its forces opened fire on one of the two drones and were able to intercept it, noting that no casualties were recorded among its ranks, describing the launching of the two drones as a “flagrant violation.”

In a separate warning, the army asked the residents of the building identified on an attached map and the buildings adjacent to it in Arabsalim to evacuate and stay away from it for a distance of not less than 300 meters, and said that the building is located near a Hezbollah facility that it intends to attack. In a statement, the Israeli army warned residents of a building in the town of Arabsalim and the buildings adjacent to it of the need to evacuate, saying that they were located near a “Hezbollah facility.”

The Israeli army described the launch of the drone as a “flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement,” adding that its forces will continue their operations in the area, which it describes as “security,” under the pretext of removing any threat to its forces and the Israelis.

The new raids come less than 24 hours after other Israeli raids on southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah did not issue an immediate comment on the Israeli army’s announcement.

Israel continues to occupy large areas in southern Lebanon, where it announced the establishment of a “security zone” with a depth of up to ten kilometers along the border, in conjunction with the continuation of raids, demolitions, and bombings.

On Friday, four people were killed and 32 others were injured, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, in raids that Israel said targeted Hezbollah sites.
