Shen Rongqin commented on Li Siduan’s exclusive interview with Shen Boyang: The three most difficult questions are precisely the top three with the highest professionalism

Some Shen Boyang supporters believed that Li Siduan's visit method was not friendly to Shen Boyang. However, scholar Shen Rongqin pointed out that he had the opposite view and believed that Li Siduan was very professional. Shen Rongqin posted a post on Facebook today and pointed out that the three issues considered most difficult for Li Siduan happen to be the top three most professional ones, namely "organizational culture," "policy and budget," and "government-capital relations."

First of all, in terms of "organizational culture", Li Siduan asked Shen Boyang that the DPP has not been in power in Taipei for a long time. If elected, how will it change the organizational culture that criticized the previous two mayors? Shen Rongqin analyzed that changing organizational culture is the most difficult issue in public administration. The most successful example in history is Chen Shui-bian's miraculously turning around the bureaucratic atmosphere of the city government through surprise inspections and reforming the household registration office. Although Shen Boyang emphasized that he was different from Ko Wenzhe, there was not much difference between the two in terms of SOP and respect for professionalism. However, Ko Wenzhe later did not do these two thoroughly, and instead became the culprit of destroying the system.

Secondly, on the "policy budget", Li Siduan asked about the financial resources of political opinions. Shen Rongqin said that this kind of question often arises during professional visits abroad, but it is very rare in Taiwan. However, Shen Boyang was well prepared for this and answered it easily, showing that he was fully prepared. But Li Siduan only touched on it, probably because he had not estimated it himself and could not continue to ask more questions about several more expensive political opinions. However, Shen Boyang came prepared, and even if he continued to ask questions, he would probably be able to answer them beautifully.

Finally, in terms of "government-council relations", when faced with how to deal with council boycotts if he becomes a "minority mayor" in the future, Shen Boyang explained that the political party color of the municipal government is relatively light, and the DPP's governance experience in other counties and cities has proven that a small number of mayors can also deliver outstanding results. Shen Rongqin also added that Shen Boyang was quite kind in his response to this question. He did not take the initiative to bring up the example of Jiang Wanan ignoring the MPs because his staff Yin Wei was questioned, and continued to show his warm-mannered style.

Shen Rongqin concluded that although Li Siduan's stance was on the lighter blue side, this interview showed a high degree of professionalism.
