A dinner party was held to pay tribute to the national army from all walks of life in the Republic of China. Defense Minister Gu Lixiong called on the military to love and respect the people on a regular basis.

In celebration of Military Day, the "Republic of China Tribute Dinner to the National Military" was held today (1st) at the National Military Heroes Hall in Taipei. The Military Friends Society and the business community jointly hosted a banquet for military models, various award-winning personnel and their families. Minister of National Defense Gu Lixiong said in his speech that he hopes that all walks of life will make "the military loves the people and the people respect the military" a daily routine in life. The national military will also continue to improve, work hard for the security of the country and the people, and live up to the expectations of all sectors of society.

The dinner was co-hosted by Defense Minister Gu Lixiong and Huang Chengcong, Chairman of the Military Friends Society. In his speech, Gu Lixiong expressed his gratitude to the Friends of Soldiers for promoting the service of condolences to the military over the years, connecting resources from all walks of life, and gathering society's affirmation of the national army, allowing officers, soldiers and their families to feel the warmth and encouragement from all walks of life, and strengthening the belief of military officers and soldiers to protect their homes and the country.

Gu Lixiong pointed out that outstanding officers and soldiers who have won the National Army Model, Model Group Chief Officer, and National Defense Education Outstanding Contribution Award have demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and firm will. They are role models for all officers and soldiers of the National Army and an important force for the future development of the National Army. The ability of officers and soldiers to devote themselves wholeheartedly to military work depends on the long-term understanding and support of their families. Their silent dedication, care and tolerance are the key to the unity and combat effectiveness of the National Army.

Gu Lixiong emphasized that as Military Day is approaching, he hopes that all walks of life will continue to take concrete actions to protect the national army and make "the military loves the people and the people respect the military" a daily routine in life. The national army will also continue to make progress, work hard for the security of the country and the people, and live up to the expectations of all sectors of society.

Huang Chengcong pointed out, "As long as the national army is there, security will always be there." Soldiers shoulder the responsibility of national security and the well-being of the people, and sacrifice for the country all the time without regrets. Military Day is a day to pay tribute to the National Army and to thank all officers and soldiers for their contributions to national security and the well-being of the people. The Military Friends Association will adhere to the past, gather more civil forces, pass on the care of all walks of life to every officer and soldier brother and sister, and become the most solid comrades of the National Army.
