China News Service, Hainan Baoting, September 26 (Zhang Yuehe) "Building a tropical high-efficiency agricultural demonstration zone" has been written into the "15th Five-Year Plan" outline of Baoting, Hainan, and has become one of the strategic positionings of Baoting's "three districts and three places" construction.
At present, Baoting is focusing on building a high-level and efficient agricultural demonstration zone with tropical characteristics to consolidate the industrial foundation for rural revitalization. In a recent interview, Wang Gang, executive deputy head of Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County, said that around the construction of a tropical characteristic and efficient agricultural demonstration zone, we will promote the fruit and vegetable science and technology innovation base, the "Baoting Qixian" brand cultivation, and the "7+N" whole industry chain upgrade project, and use physical projects to make up for development shortcomings, amplify unique advantages, and effectively transform the strategic positioning of building a tropical characteristic and efficient agricultural demonstration zone into industrial advantages and development results.
In recent years, Baoting has built the public brand "Baoting Qixian" around the seven leading industries of rambutan, durian, jackfruit, passion fruit, agarwood, spring tea and Liugong goose, and its influence has continued to increase. It has cultivated a total of 33 "two products and one standard" products, gradually realizing the transformation from "selling raw materials" to "selling brands". Among them, rambutan and jackfruit were selected into the National Famous, Special and Excellent New Agricultural Products Catalog, and rambutan and Puzzle were jointly approved as national geographical indication protected products.
"We will continue to build the '1+7+3+N' 'Baoting Qixian' brand matrix, and use the Winter Fair, Water Festival and other event platforms to promote the 'Baoting Qixian' brand and enhance brand awareness and influence." Huang Dingxian, Party Secretary and Director of the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau of Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County explained, "1" means the core of "Baoting Qixian" Regional public brand; "7" refers to the seven characteristic industrial sub-brands of rambutan, durian, jackfruit, passion fruit, agarwood, spring tea and Liugong goose; "3" means that each sub-brand focuses on cultivating three leading business entities with strong market competitiveness; "N" means radiating and driving many cooperatives, agricultural enterprises and farmers in the county to share the brand development dividends.
In terms of characteristic planting and breeding, Baoting strives to build a "2+3+4" characteristic agricultural industry system during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, that is, to strengthen two billion-level industrial chains of tropical fruits such as rambutan, durian, passion fruit, and tropical crops such as rubber, agarwood, and spring tea; to develop three potential industrial chains of under-forest ecological industry, leisure agriculture, and agricultural product processing industry; and to ensure the supply of four industrial chains of grain, vegetables, livestock, and rubber.
Specifically, the focus is on building the Qixianling Global Tropical Fruit Expo Center, introducing and preserving tropical rare and rare fruit germplasm resources at the same latitude, breeding "seedless" rambutan, carrying out technical research on key pain points such as durian fruit sandwiching, and expanding the scale of the advantageous fruit industry according to local conditions; focusing on improving farmers' organizational and scientific and technological capabilities, strengthening disease and pest control, building standardized rubber gardens and agarwood planting bases, and striving to achieve an average annual growth of 5% in output value of the two billion-level industrial chains.
At the same time, Baoting strives to increase the total underforest planting area to 181,400 acres by 2030, launching the golden sign of "National Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration County" and promoting the added value of agricultural products from "selling fresh fruits" to "deep processing"; the area of newly built and renovated high-standard farmland exceeds 90% of the county's total cultivated land, and the planting area of melons and vegetables is stable at 50,000 acres every winter. It promotes the modern large-scale breeding of Liugong geese, laying hens and other special livestock and poultry, and ensures the supply of national strategic materials.
At present, there are 14 agricultural product processing enterprises in Baoting County, covering tropical fruit deep processing categories such as preserved fruits, juices, jelly, dried fruits, and pulps from scratch, with a production capacity exceeding 4,000 tons per year. Huang Dingxian said that relying on the free trade port's preferential policies such as duty-free processing for value-added, on the one hand, it will increase the output of tropical fruit crops, and on the other hand, it will focus on promoting the quality and upgrading of projects such as fruit and vegetable processing plants, Jinbotong Future Intelligent Food Industrial Park, and Kamo Industrial Park to expand production capacity, promote the construction of the entire industry chain, and strive to increase the ratio of the output value of the agricultural product processing industry to the total agricultural output value from 10% to 40% by 2030.
"We will continue to focus on scientific agriculture, green agriculture, quality agriculture, brand agriculture and open agriculture to increase the efficiency of agriculture, increase the income of farmers, and add vitality to the countryside." Huang Dingxian said. (over)
