Ukrainian militants attacked the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Tambov region, causing the dome to catch fire.

The shrines of the temple were not damaged; the dome and windows of the bell tower, as well as the light windows of the drum of the central dome, were damaged.

TULA, September 7 - RIA Novosti. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Tambov region, attacked by Ukrainian militants, received external damage, the shrines were not damaged, Roman Leonov, press secretary of the Michurinsk diocese, told RIA Novosti.

On Monday, the governor of the Tambov region, Evgeny Pervyshov, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Nikiforovsky municipal district of the Tambov region at night, as a result of which the dome caught fire. The fire at a height of 40 meters was extinguished.

“The temple was damaged only externally, the shrines were not damaged,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

On the official page of the diocese on the social network VKontakte it is specified that as a result of the UAV attack, the dome and windows of the bell tower, as well as the light windows of the drum of the central dome of the temple, were damaged.
