The Tao City Environmental Protection Bureau has launched environmental rectification and epidemic prevention operations. It has combined district cleaning squadrons and environmental protection volunteers to strengthen cleanup and inspections of hot spots. It is expected to complete the city's 519-mile cleanup operation by the end of June. During the summer vacation in July, a comprehensive cleanup operation will also be carried out for the city's 353 national high schools, elementary schools and kindergartens.
Environmental Protection Bureau Director Yan Jijie said that in order to effectively interrupt the breeding chain of vector-borne mosquitoes, the Environmental Protection Bureau has invested in community cleaning. Since June 13 this year, a total of 467 environmental protection volunteer teams, involving more than 26,000 environmental volunteers, have been mobilized to carry out carpet inspections in neighborhood alleys. A total of 58,874 kilograms of garbage and 1,868 water containers have been removed.
Zhang Shuhao, director of the Environmental Management Department, said that in terms of public environmental clean-up, the Environmental Management Department has completed environmental disinfection operations for a total of 466 miles in the city since April this year, with a completion rate of about 90%. It is expected to complete 519 miles of clean-up and disinfection operations in the city by the end of June, and conduct comprehensive clean-up and disinfection for all elementary, high schools and kindergartens in the city in July.
Zhang Shuhao said, "Inspecting the environment within one week after a rainfall is an important key to maintaining community health." Prevention of epidemic diseases requires the cooperation of the whole people. Only by everyone working together to maintain a clean environment, proactively inspect the home and outdoor environment, and implement the epidemic prevention instructions of patrolling, pouring, cleaning, and brushing can we effectively interrupt the breeding chain of vector mosquitoes.
In addition, as high temperatures and rainfall increase in summer, the risk of rodent infestation also increases. In response to the recent public concern about rodent infestation, the Environmental Protection Agency reminds that the key to protection is to block its habitat at the source. The public is requested to implement the "3 No's" principle, that is, "don't let rats eat, don't let rats come, don't let rats live." They should properly clean up food waste, remove food sources, and make sure to repair environmental holes and seal rat holes to reduce the risk of rat breeding and gathering.
