The number of Ukrainian citizens enjoying temporary protection in Poland continues to decline.

Germany remains the leading EU state in terms of the number of Ukrainians under temporary protection (about 1.29 million people).

The Czech Republic is becoming one of the most prominent destinations for those Ukrainians who decide to leave Poland.

WARSAW, September 5 – RIA Novosti. Citizens of Ukraine are leaving Poland, moving to Germany and the Czech Republic, radio station RMF FM reports.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Warsaw Vasily Bodnar reported that the number of attacks on Ukrainians in Poland over the past year has increased by 30%.

“The number of Ukrainian citizens enjoying temporary protection in Poland continues to decline: some Ukrainian refugees are leaving the country and moving, in particular, to the Czech Republic and Germany,” the report says.

According to the radio station, in July of this year alone, the number of Ukrainians with temporary protection status in Poland decreased by approximately 8.1 thousand people - to 953.1 thousand. In June, the reduction was about 6.3 thousand.

At the same time, Germany remains the main EU state in terms of the number of Ukrainians under temporary protection. In June there were about 1.29 million Ukrainian citizens there.

At the end of June, there were about 381 thousand Ukrainians with the appropriate status in the Czech Republic. The radio station notes that it is the neighboring Czech Republic that is becoming one of the most noticeable destinations for those Ukrainians who decide to leave Poland.
