Lionel Messi joins the Argentine national team camp before his farewell match

On Sunday, Argentine star Lionel Messi joined his country's national team camp before his farewell match with "Tango".

The Argentine national team published video clips of Messi joining its ranks, and he appeared wearing an olive-colored jacket, a light beige shirt, dark gray pants, and white shoes, in addition to glasses.

A farewell party for Lionel Messi is scheduled to be held at the Monumental Stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 84,000 spectators, on October 6, at which time Tango will play with the Benin national team.

The 39-year-old decided to hang up his international boots on August 31, describing the decision as “painful.”

The Inter Miami star said at the time: “After time has passed since the final match (of the World Cup), and after thinking carefully about it, I would like to announce to everyone that I will retire from playing with the national team.”

He continued: "It was a painful decision, and it still hurts me deeply, but I understand that the time has come. I swear to you that I have always done my best, not only in the past few years in which we won everything, but before that as well."

He continued: "I have always fought and left everything on the field for this shirt, to bring you happiness and make you feel proud to be Argentinians through football."
