Graffiti with expulsion orders and threats on houses in the Beira-Mar neighborhood, in Luís Correia, on the coast of Piauí, were attributed to criminal factions by the Civil Police. In one of them, it is possible to see the acronym of an organization and, in another, the message "24 hora (sic) para sai (sic)".

To g1, delegate João Filipe Leite explained that the graffitied properties belong, in the majority, to drug dealers and users who live in the region. According to him, some residents even left the place.

"These threats would be directed at rival factions that operated in that region. Some houses belong to people who were arrested and left no one in the properties. Others belong to members of factions who abandoned the area," he said.

According to João Filipe Leite, the authors of the graffiti have already been identified and are being sought. Police actions were intensified in the neighborhood.

"This area has been in conflict for some time, but mutual threats have intensified recently. There were arrests, the group operating in the area suffered casualties and, as a result, another faction is trying to occupy the region", explained the delegate.

Man found dead in mangrove

The place where the threats were recorded was also the scene of the murder of Marcos André Carvalho Silva, aged 29. His body was found with gunshot marks, in a mangrove area in the early hours of this Wednesday (23). The Civil Police did not identify a relationship between the graffiti and the crime.

This is the third violent death recorded on the state's coast in 24 hours. On Tuesday afternoon (22), a man was stabbed and another victim was shot in the head, in different cases in the municipality of Parnaíba.
